Who We Are

Who we are

The Italian Astrobiology Society is a no-profit association of scientists and experts with the common interest in astrobiology. The Association has a national and independent nature free from every government, organization or political party. It is opened to everyone with an interest in astrobiology.

The main fields in which the Association is involved are:

astrochemistry;
prebiotic chemistry;
origin and evolution of the genetic information;
protobiology;
archeobacteria and Extremophiles;
exploration of extreme terrestrial environments;
search of extraterrestrial life-signs;
extraterrestrial habitability;
adaptation of living being to space environments;
technological development and applications of instruments for terrestrial and space applications.
